Le 17 janvier dernier, ce fut un choc d'apprendre la disparition du peintre aquarelliste : Gordon Pearson. Il peignait particulièrement « des maisons anciennes, car elles sont des facettes vivantes et émouvantes de notre histoire et le reflet de la personnalité des gens qui y habitent » : extrait d'un article de Nicole Morel, juin 2010. D'ailleurs, à cette même période, il fut l'invité d'honneur de la Galerie d'art de Dudswell au cours de la saison estivale 2010.
On January 17th 2012, we were shocked to learn of the passing of the watercolor painter Gordon Pearson. He painted mostly : "old houses, because they are living and emotional parts of our history, and reflect the personality of the people who inhabits them" [Nicole Morel, June 2010]. At the time of the article in The Papotin, in summer 2010, Mr. Pearson was also the guest of honor at the Galerie d'art de Dudswell.
Par son trait minutieux, sa touche vigoureuse et son observation pour peindre notre patrimoine, ses magnifiques aquarelles créent une énergie, une authenticité par la représentation d'architectures rustiques. Ainsi, ses toiles pourraient faire partie d'un recueil d'histoires inventoriant les scènes rurales de notre canton.
With his meticulous touch and his strong observation to paint our heritage, his watercolors create an energy, an authenticity in the representation of rustic architecture. His paintings could well be part of a collection of stories that summarize scenes of our rural township.
Par ses œuvres, Gordon Pearson nous laisse un bel héritage et, également, le souvenir d'un homme extrêmement agréable, charmant, calme et attentionné. Merci Gordon!
